A tale of two halves.

Phi @ Falmouth is an amalgamation of two long running sister companies - Phi Magnetronics and Phi Nexus - both owned by Onyx Holdings Ltd.

Phi Magnetronics

Phi Magnetronics began in 1969 with the design and production of a range of magnetic recording heads for reel-to-reel and compact cassette tape recorders. Over the years we developed applications for, amongst others, ATM cash dispensers and swipe card, ticket, passbook and currency readers.

This spurred the growth to becoming one of the leading magnetic recording head manufacturing and design facilities in Europe.

With our focus upon quality, innovation and reliability we provide magnetic heads to a wide range of industries, from financial to medical to military, across the world.

Phi Nexus

An outsourcing service specifically for Electro-mechanical projects.

Phi Nexus started with projects for blue chip companies such as Logitech and De La Rue in 1996 and has gone from strength to strength over the last 10 years.

Embracing the same core values as Phi Magnetronics - quality, innovation and reliability - we are able to work closely with high precision industries and projects on a daily basis.

We take our customers every step of the way and work hard to make sure your outsourced project is successful, which is why our clients come back again and again.

The join

Working as two separate companies worked well but we discovered that we could make things even better, for Nexus, the team and our customers, by pooling our strong resource base.

So, to achieve some real synergy we became one company – Phi @ Falmouth. We still operate in two distinct divisions and haven't compromised on the quality of work we do, just streamlined our operations.
