Ice Cream Tub Dispensing Machine

This machine was designed developed and manufactured at Phi to specific customer requirements, involving all departments within our project management team. The machine was used to dispense pre-measured portions of ice cream from a custom designed sealed tub, effectively extruding the ice cream with the action of a linear actuator through a star shape cut out in the bottom of the tub. The design team had to consider speed of operation, safety, hygiene and accessibility. They also had to conform to UL and CE standards to get this product accepted. All parts were sourced and purchased by the Phi team on schedules with varying lead times, often dealing with a number of layers of the supply chain. Phi manufactured approximately 750 of these machines.
